An attorney from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, he is a specialist in Mining Law and the Environment, areas in which he has worked for more than 35 years, advising international and national companies in mining and energy projects in all their aspects, as well as in obtaining the environmental management instruments and other public and private authorizations necessary for the execution of investment projects.

He was General Director of Mining Concessions of the Public Mining Registry (currently, the Geological Mining and Metallurgical Institute, INGEMMET). He has been for six years Substitute Member of the Mining Council. He has been for thirty years professor of the Mining Law course in undergraduate and postgraduate courses at various universities (Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Universidad de Lima, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Universidad ESAN and Universidad del Pacífico). Speaker at events specialized in the mining industry and author of articles on the subject. Since 1999 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Mining, Petroleum and Energy Law.
